Discovery of the corsican Scrub

Three paths departing from Cargèse are at your disposition to immerse yourselves in
the Corsican perfumes.

The vegetation counts about 2835 species of plants whose 121 "endemic" for Corsica.

The scrub, who covers near 200 00 hectares, has the characteristic to grow again after the fire. These facts aloow the retention of the water on the slop and avoid erosion after the rains.

In the scrub you will find plants as "cyste", "Immortal ones of Italy", "Aspohodel", "Agave" and "Lavender of the Stechades".

 

1 - The Puntiglione : 90 minutes (Loop)
Start :
Old Stadium of "La Sarra" in Cargèse. Turn left after the concrete slab to join the residence "Colombara", then take the little path on the right (parallel at the overland road)
Arrival :
On the Road of the Port. Turn left to join the village.

2 - Ominia Genoese Tower : 150 minutes (Go and Back)
Start :
From The beach of the Péro, take the road until the residence named "Ta Kladia". Open and shut again the gate, then take the overland road. Arrived at the Purification's Station, fork on the left. Follow the direct way to the Tower. Possibility of bathe in the rocks right before arriving at Ominia

3 - Orchinu : 240 minutes (Loop)
Start :
At 11.2 miles from Cargèse on the road of Piana, on the left, take the jonction "Club Med". Leave your car there and go until the end of the beach (the other extreme of the Club Med).
After the river, take on the right until the gate.

Drive

For Half a Day

Direction of Piana with a visit of the " Calanches", then go to Porto. Going to Evisa,
you will cross the "Gorges de La Spelunca". Then 4.8 miles after Evisa on the road of Corte, in the
"Forêt d'Aïtone", on the left you will find a sign showing the way to see the natural  "baths" (about 15 minutes walking). Then return to Cargèse by the villages of Vico and Sagone, or by Vico and Paomia.

For a Day
 

Direction of Piana with a visit of the " Calanches", then go to Porto. Going to Evisa,
you will cross the "Gorges de La Spelunca". But, after Evisa you must continue the road to go to the
village of Calacuccia. You will Cross the "Fôret d'Aïtone" and also the "Forêt de Valdo Niello". In Calacuccia, you will find a dam and an artificial lake. Then in the city of Corte , you will get through the "Scala di Santa Regina". You will be able to visit the city of Corte and its citadel. Then return to Cargèse by Ajaccio, crossing the "Gorges de la Restonica" and the villages of , Venaco, Vizzavona.

In the interior of the land you will find the villages of Vico, Murzo, Létia, Renno, Muna,
Soccia, Appriciani and Coggia
